Meet Norma

Norma began her yoga practice 11 1/2 years ago when she was at a crossroads of her life; suddenly an empty nester as her two grown children moved across the country to Western Canada.  Little did she know that this would lead to finding a practice that challenged her physically, connected her spiritually and filled her heart with a community that welcomed her from the very first day. This reconnection to body, heart and spirit put her in tune with her body allowing the early detection of cancer six short months after starting her yoga practice. During her recovery Norma was introduced to the healing modalities of restorative yoga and Reiki, which she knew that she wanted to share with others when the time was right. Yoga remains an integral part of her self-care practice including her love for the challenge of a Vinyasa class, and the peace found in a Yoga Nidra practice.

Norma is a dedicated, self-motivated health care professional with 40+ years nursing experience specializing as an Occupational Health Nurse. Providing leadership to corporate wellness programming and advocating for the importance of both physical and mental wellness for employees has been a passion throughout her nursing career.  Achieving her Fitness Instructor Certification, Black Belt in Shotokan Karate and Yoga Teacher certification has allowed her to walk the talk for her patients and her team. Drawn to alternative healing modalities to support overall health, has led Norma to achieve Level Two Reiki Practitioner Certification, with plans to complete Reiki Master Certification in 2025.
